The iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store.

How it works

Set up in a minute

Pair once. After that, open the app and present.

Install the Mac app

Download the installer, open it and click Install. LivePointer lives in the menu bar. Allow Local Network when macOS asks.

Get the iPhone app

Get LivePointer on the App Store. The Mac app can show a code that opens it: Get the iPhone App… in its menu.

Pair once

Your Mac appears under Nearby Macs on the iPhone. Tap it and check the safety code matches the Mac’s. Same Wi-Fi, or the iPhone’s hotspot.

Everything a clicker does, and more

A laser pointer is no use on a TV. LivePointer draws straight into the picture.

Point

A dot follows your finger on the big screen. Pinch with two fingers to size it.

Spotlight

Dim everything but a circle around what you are talking about.

Ink that fades

Circle a number, underline a line. Rough shapes come out neat, then fade away by themselves.

Change slides your way

On screen, with the volume buttons, the Action Button, Back Tap or Shortcuts. Three fingers up to jump to any slide.

Any display, any app

The phone shows what the display shows. Keynote, PowerPoint, a PDF, a browser, a demo.

Private by design

Phone and Mac talk directly over your network, encrypted. No account, no server, no analytics.

Questions

Is the Mac app free?

Yes. The iPhone app is a one-time purchase on the App Store. There is no subscription.

The Mac doesn’t show up on the phone.

Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot, that LivePointer is running on the Mac, and that Local Network is allowed for LivePointer on the Mac (System Settings) and on the iPhone (Settings).

Why does the phone ask me to check a safety code?

The phone trusts only your Mac’s own certificate. The code lets you confirm it is your Mac the first time, or after the Mac was reset. Pair only if the codes match.

Does it work with Keynote and PowerPoint?

Yes. Next and previous, start and end the show, and jumping to a slide from its thumbnail all work in both. The pointer works over anything on the screen.

Can I use it from Safari instead of the iPhone app?

Yes, after installing a certificate profile once. The steps are under Advanced in the Mac’s pairing window.

How do I update the Mac app?

Check for Updates… in the Mac app’s menu opens this page. Download and run the new installer; it replaces the old version.

The clicker you always have.
